Pride goes before a fall. This proverb is used to warn people that if they are too proud or confident, they are likely to fail or be disappointed.

The phrase is used to caution against hubris, the sin of overweening pride or presumption. It is also used to warn against arrogance, self-confidence that leads to ruin.

Arrogance is a great defect that prevents us from seeing and facing the reality. Many times our pride is unreasonable because we do not have the qualities for which we are proud of ourselves. It can be clearly seen by others but we cannot feel it ourselves. But arrogance should be based on sufficient qualities and abilities. Even when we are highly deserving or proud, we should remember that there are many others who are better than us. That's why it is said in English "Pride Hath A Fall" meaning the head of pride is down.

The fox also met the cat and started talking to the cat, but the cat said that this is not a safe place because hunters usually come this way, so the fox ignored the cat's warning and let the hunters go with his tricks. He started playing pranks on dodging. The fox asked the cat if you also know the tricks to dodge the hunters. The cat replied that she only knows how to climb the tree in times of danger. The arrogant started running after the fox, the fox ran for its life but the hunting dogs caught the fox and tore it into two pieces.
